Poor Hockey Work Yesterday

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

In a 45-minute line-up yesterday afternoon on the Stadium rink the University hockey team defeated the second team by the score of 3 to 2. Several changes were made in the line-up. Foster and Colby were tried at point on the first team and Pruyn at the same position on the second team. H. C. Egan and Pell played at right end on the first team, in place of Wilder who has sustained a slight injury to his knee. Owing to these changes the play, although at times aggressive, was very loose.

The stick work and passing were decidedly poor, and the shooting was low and weak. On the offense the first team forwards showed no team play and were very slow in recovering after losing the puck. Foster did the best body-checking of the year. J. B. Manning 3M. assisted Dr. Goodridge in coaching the first team defense.

The line-up: FIRST TEAM.  SECOND TEAM. Macleod, l.e.  r.e., Pell, Egan Townsend, l.c.  r.c., Gowan, Lovering Callaway, r.c.  l.c., Rumsey Egan, Pell, r.e.  l.e., D. Wagstaff Newhall, c.p.  c.p., S. Wagstaff, Fraser-Campbell Foster, Colby, Grant, p.  p., Sard, Pruyn Tilden, g.  g., Tyer

Goals--Macleod 2, Callaway 1, Rumsey 1, Egan 1.

In addition to the games in the Intercollegiate schedule, published in the CRIMSON of December 2, the following games have been arranged for the University team: January 7, Boston Hockey Club; January 11, Massachusetts Institute of Technology; January 18, Andover Athletic Club. All the games will be played in Cambridge.
