The University basketball team defeated Boston University in the Hemenway Gymnasium last evening by the score of 42 to 13. Though the outcome was never doubtful after the first few minutes of play, the game was spirited throughout, and a number of trick formations were used effectively.
In the first half both teams were slow in starting. Harvard scored first, but the score was soon tied at 4 to 4. Then five goals in rapid succession by the University team gave it a lead it was able to keep and increase almost at will.
In the second half, with three substitutes in the Harvard line-up, the play slackened considerably. Both teams failed to cover their men, thus allowing a number of easy tries for goals.
