According to the Yale University catalogue the total registration of students in the University this year is 3,806, an increase of 663 over last year's registration. This total includes 269 students in the Summer School of Arts and Sciences, 18 in the Summer School of Forestry and 348, taking the courses for teachers. In the Academic Department the total number of students is 1,521; and in the Scientific School 1144. There are 416 officers of the University, including professors, instructors and tutors.
