Yesterday afternoon the University crew was given a time row over the three and three-eighths mile course, starting, at the Weld Boat House and finishing at the Union Boat Club. The time, 18 minutes and 50 seconds, was made under fairly favorable conditions. The second crew, which joined in at the Longwood Bridge, finished about two lengths ahead.
In the order of the first crew the only change was that George's place at number 7 was taken by Corlett; the latter's seat at number 2 in the second boat was temporarily filled by Edwards, who has been rowing at number 6 on the second Freshman crew.
The orders yesterday:
First crew--Stroke, Farley; 7, Corlett; 6, Filley; 5, Lawson; 4, Pleasonton; 3, Flint; 2, Tappan; bow, Burchard; cox., Montgomery.
Second crew--Stroke, Shepard; 7, Gill; 6, Bacon; 5, Meier; 4, McLeod; 3, Kellogg; 2, Edwards (substitute); bow, Lilly; cox., Chase.
