The Yale football team defeated Syracuse in New Haven last Saturday by the score of 11 to 0. The Yale team was good on the defensive, but the offensive was not as strong as was generally supposed.
In the first half the ball changed hands frequently; but Yale finally worked it down the field and Wylie was sent over for a touchdown. Yale kept the ball in Syracuse's territory during the second half, and on a fumble by Syracuse Goebel fell on it behind the line for the second touchdown. Brides and Alcott excelled for Yale.
The Yale line-up was as follows: l. e., Alcott; l. t., Paige; l. g., Brides; c., Cooney; r. g., Goebel; r. t., Biglow; r. e., Burch, Burke; f. b., T. Jones, Dines; l. h. b., Wheaton, Berger; r. h. b., Murphy; f. b., Wylie, Coy.
