The seventeenth annual interscholastic tennis tournament was begun on Jarvis Field yesterday afternoon, and will continue daily until finished. Nine schools entered the tournament, and at the close of the play yesterday, their standing was as follows: Volkmann, 7; Newton High School, 4; Andover, 4; Boston Latin School, 3; Dedham High School, 3; Browne and Nichols', 2; Exeter, 1; Wellesley High School, 1; Brookline High School, 1.
