A SUGGESTION FOR THE LIBRARY.

The College Library is open to students on Sunday afternoons, presumably for purposes of studying. It frequently occurs, however, that a man stays in Cambridge expressly to use the Library, and finds when he goes there that all the books on a given subject have been taken out over Sunday. Many courses have reports due on Monday or Tuesday, so that the books are in great demand on Sunday, and this applies especially during the examination period. Moreover, a great many books are taken home and returned Monday morning without having been opened, while those in demand in the Library are sure to be used diligently. It seems, then, that if the reserved books are allowed to go out over Sunday, the Library might just as well be closed. We would suggest that the reserved books, if allowed out at all, be returned Sunday at 1 o'clock. In this way they would reach a good many more men, and fewer would go away dissatisfied.
