Princeton Won Debate From Yale

Princeton won a closely contested debate from Yale last night in Alexander Hall, Princeton. Princeton took the negative side of "Resolved. That the Federal Government should have the power to impose an income tax, not apportioned among the states according to population." Professor Stockton Axson, of Princeton, presided, and the judges were as follows: Professor O. M. W. Sprague, of Harvard; Mr. Talcot Williams, of Philadelphia: and Mr. Horatio C. King, of Brooklyn. The Yale speakers were H. DeF. Widger '10, M. A. Plumb '12 D.S., and H. F. Bishop '10 L.S. The Princeton speakers were M. M. McDermott '10, E. R. Whittingham '12 and S. Herrmann '10.
