The first trials for the University tennis team held on Jarvis Field yesterday afternoon resulted as follows,--R. G. Vickery '13 defeated F. M. H. Dazey '14, 4-6, 9-7, 6-3; C. J. North '14 defeated G. F. Plimpton '14, 4-6, 6-1, 6-0; J. M. Sands '13 defeated E. H. Wiswall, 6-4, 6-1; R. Clifford '12 defeated R. H. Kettell '14, 6-4, 6-3; D. R. Hanson '14 defeated W. L. Myers '14, by default; A. J. Goldsmith '13, defeated W S. Howe '13, 6-0, 6-3; W. Faulkner '14 defeated H. A. Lawton '14, 6-4, 6-0; W. B. Harris '13 defeated E. K. Hale '14, 6-1, 6-4.

Matches to be played today at 2.30 o'clock are as follows,--R. G. Vickery '13 vs. C. J. North '14, J. M. Sands '13 vs. R. Clifford '12, D. R. Hanson '14 vs. A. J. Goldsmith '13, W. Faulkner '14 vs. W. B. Harris '13. The winners of the first two matches and the winners of the last two matches here named are to meet in second matches at 4 o'clock. Winners of any of the matches are to report their scores on the card provided for the purpose in the CRIMSON Office before 6.30 o'clock.
