Business and Law Lead With More Than 5,000 Men Each.

Statistics giving the occupations of most living Harvard graduates have been complied by the CRIMSON and are given herewith. The various vocations have been classified in nine departments.

The figures are as follows: business 5,771 law 5,372 engineering 1,289, medicine 4,126, ministry 1,033, teaching 3,554, government 815, journalism 713 farming 574. A very large percentage are engaged in law or medicine. Business has the greatest number since that term includes many subdivisions.

The government has 815 Harvard men in its employ. The diplomatic and consular service contains 95, and the rest are distributed among other branches as follows: civil service 412, judiciary 159, military 138, legislative(not including members of Congress) 11.

Figures recently complied at Princeton form an interesting comparison. They were taken from the graduates of 15 classes and are as follows: business 1,519, law 674, engineering 380, medicine 288, ministry 281, teaching 260, government 120, journalism 97, farming 86.
