pitching for the University team. The former was hit safely four times during the four innings in which he occupied the mound. Captain Potter held the Pilgrims to two hits during the remainder of the game. His work demonstrated his versatility as a ball player.

How the Runs Were Made.

The Pilgrims scored in the first inning when McDevitt singled, reached third on a passed ball, and came home on a single by Dexter. Harvard took the lead in the third inning. With one down Wigglesworth walked, and scored when Pushee fumbled the ball and then overthrew first in an effort to catch Tomes. The latter reached second on the play, took third on Wingate's out, and scored when Simons failed to handle an easy bounder.

Hicks tied the score for the Pilgrims in the seventh with a long drive which was good for a circuit of the bases. Harvard, however, came back strong in its half of the inning and made the winning run. Reeves singled, was sacrificed to second, and scored on Wingate's single.
