The 1918 cross-country team ran the first race of its season yesterday afternoon with the Providence Technical School team, over the 3-mile Freshman course at Belmont. J. E. C Clark, a Providence runner, won the race, with a lead of about 65 yards over L. K. Moorehead '18 who finished second. Clark's time was 17 minutes, 31 seconds. 1918 won the race, however, with the score of 24 points to Providence's 31. The first five places counted for each side, the lowest score winning. The winners finished in the following order: Clark (P), L. K. Moorehead '18, J. Coggeshall '18, G. deL. Harris '18, G. A. King '18, Dorsey (P), Arnold (P), Marshall (P), R. T. Catterall '18, H. J. Brearley '18, Day (P), Holloway (P), Hills (P), D. W. Rich '18, R. Briggs '18, Newman (P), H. D. Carpenter '18, J. T. Rogers '18, Kelley (P), Barbour (P), Prosser (P).
