WAR CAUSES TO BE EXAMINED

Union and Speakers' Club to Join Tonight in Open Discussion of Great European Struggle.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The meeting for the discussion of the causes of the European War by undergraduates of the University, will be held in the Territorial Clubs Room of the Union tonight at 8 o'clock. It will be open to members of the Union and the Speakers' Club. After the general discussion Professor A. B. Hart '80 will outline the circumstances which led to the conflict, taking the historian's point of view.

This discussion will be the first of a series extending through the year for the purpose of affording an opportunity for a free exchange of ideas on questions of general interest. Any inflammatory speeches or display of undue prejudice will be, therefore, out of order. In order to carry out the purpose of the meeting, the discussion among the undergraduates will be quite informal and will take place entirely from the floor, so that everyone will have an equal opportunity to put forth and defend his opinions. The different points of view will be explained by sympathizers of the various warring countries.
