The single scull race for the Regent's Cup was won yesterday afternoon by N. P. Darling '17, over the mile course in the Charles River Basin. B Carpenter '16, and G. F. Talbot '16 came in second and third respectively. The winner's time was 6 minutes, 40 seconds. He won easily but the next three boats were bunched all the way and not until the line was reached could it be seen who was ahead. Talbot furnished some mild excitement by capsizing as he crossed the finish line.
In the comp race C. R. Cabot '17, came in first, closely followed by W. Chanler '19 and D. P. Hull '19. The boats rowed over the one-half mile straightaway upstream. Coach Haines refereed the single scull race and Coach Abeles the comp race.
This afternoon the double scull race will be rowed over the mile course from the Cottage Farm Bridge to the Harvard Bridge at 4 o'clock. The entries are as follows: C. C. Lund '16, and J. C. White '17; N. P. Darling '17 and G. F. Talbot '16; B. Carpenter '16 and W. L. Robinson '16; W. A. Flagg '19 and R. H. Kissell '19.
