Seventh in the intercollegiate track meet with but eleven points to its credit is not a showing for Harvard's team to be proud of, but the majority of Harvard men who grumble at the poor results have little right to express their disapproval. The fact that less than four per cent of the College entered the recent Winter Track Carnival shows where the fault lies. When but two men enter an event in a meet of this kind a decided lack of support is the only cause.

Has the Harvard idler the right to criticise the poor showing made by the University track team when he has done nothing himself to make it stronger? In fact, has he any moral right to celebrate a victory if he never contributes to that victory, unless he is engaged in some other activity? If the undergraduates who waste countless afternoons with useless amusements would give their time to conscientious work at Soldiers Field--the University track team would profit and would attain a greater measure of success.
