The University lacrosse team lost the first game of the season to the Boston Lacrosse Club, 7 to 5, at Soldiers Field, Saturday. For the University Captain Nightingale showed up well with two goals while P. Gustafson '12 did the best work for the Boston club, composed of former University players, with three goals to his credit.
The game opened with a rush by the University which gave it the lead. The Boston players soon struck their stride, however, and scored two goals, the first half ending 2 to 2.
Early in the second period both teams scored twice and then the experienced former University players scored three goals while the University team could only make one.
Coach Warwick will put the team through strenuous practice this week for the coming southern trip, the hardest game of which, will be with Johns Hopkins, last year's champions.
