FIRST LACROSSE GAME WITH YALE

University Team Closes Season With Contest at New Haven.

For the first time, the University meets Yale in lacrosse. This afternoon at 2.30 o'clock, the game will take place at Yale Field, New Haven, substituting for the contest which the University was to have played with Johns Hopkins at Soldiers Field.

Last winter, largely through the influence of Captain W. E. Nightingale '15, a meeting was held at Yale to organize lacrosse as a sport, and the result has been the formation of a team under the direction of B. M. Vance '08, who played for the University for three years. The Yale twelve is composed largely of football men, and while it is under the disadvantage of inexperience, should make a good showing on account of its weight and speed. The University will line-up as it did against Cornell. Today's game will have no bearing on the championship.

The University line-up: Cochran, g.; Flu, c.; O'Nell, c.p.; Catton, 1d.; Beal, 2d.; Elliot, 3d.; Wanamaker, c.; Nash, 3a.; Nightingale, 2a.; Lucas, 1a.; Fleming, o.h.; and Persons, i.h.
