Cup Offered for Kicking Contest

A feature of spring practice for the football team this year will be a kicking contest for the Graduate Cup, to be held on May 2 or 3. This trophy was presented to the football team in 1889 by a number of graduates, with the idea that it should be competed for annually by candidates for the University team. The cup has not been competed for since 1889, and will be awarded this year to the winner of this contest in spring practice. There will be a similar competition for the cup every year hereafter. The contestants will be assigned a certain number of punts, drops, and placements from various distances and angles, and the individual having the highest score for any year will win the cup for that year. Each year, the winner's name will be engraved on the cup, and the man having the highest total at the end of ten years will win the cup outright. Rules governing the contest will be published by the management on the day on which it takes place.
