HUPD Chief Says Harvard Yard Encampment is Peaceful, Defends Students’ Right to Protest
The Freshman tennis team will close its season with the match with Yale on Divinity Field this afternoon at 2.30 o'clock.
The University golf team gave the Freshmen a thorough trouncing at Oakley Country Club yesterday afternoon. The matches were as follows: J. G. Heyburn '16 defeated W. A. Flagg '19, 4 and 3; J. W. Hubbell '17 defeated N. Wainwright '19, 2 and 1; L. H. Canan '17 defeated E. L. Hubbard, at the 19th hole; W. P. Hunt '16 defeated R. H. Wales '19, 3 and 1; L. M. Lombard '17 defeated B. L. Wells '19, 2 and 1.
Today the team will take a trip to Springfield to play the Williams golf team on the Springfield Country Club course. This team has been beaten by Cornell, 5 to 1, but it is a strong organization none the less. The first man, Marshall, is exceptionally good. The University team will play in the following order: J. G. Heyburn '16, J. W. Hubbell '17, L. H. Canan '17, W. P. Hunt '16, L. M. Lombard '17, H. Hutchins '17.
The Freshman team will play its most important match of the season today, when the 1919 players meet Yale at Belmont Springs Country Club. The Freshmen will play off as follows: W. A. Flagg, N. Wainwright, E. L. Hubbard, R. H. Wales, E.L. Wells, W. H. Potter.
The 1919 team will play in the singles as follows; R. C. Rand, R. H. Kissel, F. S. Ritche, C. M. Coulter, E. M. Warburg, F. W. Hatch. In the doubles, the man will pair up as follows: R. C. Rand and R. H. Kissel, F. S. Ritchie and C. J. Coulter, F.M. Warburg and F. W. Hatch.
