READING ROOM DEVOTED TO STUDY OF FRENCE PLANNED.

Members of Corps Will Get Chance to Read Military Literature in that Language.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Plans are now being formed for the establishment of a room in one of the University buildings, where members of the R. O. T. C. who are desirous of becoming more familiar with the French language as an aid to their military work, may get a practical knowledge of the subject.

This room, which will probably be located in the Union, will be frequented by the French instructors of the University who will render assistance to students of French conversation. French periodicals and newspapers, as well as military and technical books, will be supplied.

In connection with the reading room, a course in military and oral French is projected and already nearly 200 applications for admission have been received from R. O. T. C. men. This course will probably be somewhat similar to one arranged by Professor A. F. Whittem and Dr. P. W. Long '98, and given by the State Department of the University Extension at the National Guard camps.
