DRAMATIC CLUB WILL GIVE THREE PLAYS NEXT MONTH

OPEN MEETING TONIGHT

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Three one-act plays written by members of English 47 have been selected for the annual spring production of the Dramatic Club. They will be read at the open meeting of the club in Peabody Hall, Phillips Brooks House, tonight at 7.30 o'clock.

The three plays that have been chosen are "Transfer of Property," by Mark W. Reed; "The Little Cards," by John Redhead Froome, holder this year of the MacDowell Fellowship which is awarded for the best play submitted in English 47; and "The Reunion," by Eleanor Holmes Hinkley, a special student at Radcliffe. All three plays are serious in subject and mode of treatment. "Transfer of Property" deals with Christian Science and New England life in general. The second of the three plays, "The Little Cards," concerns the life of an immigrant on Ellis Island. Its plot reveals the famous Black Hand Society. An old woman of 80 and a man of 62 years are the chief characters in Miss Hinkley's "The Reunion." It is a play dealing with age and sentiment.

There will be three performances of the Dramatic Club production this spring, two to be given in Cambridge. The dates have been set for April 3, 4, and 5.

After the plays have been read at the open meeting tonight, the competitions will be outlined. All prospective candidates for the acting, stage and publicity departments are expected to attend. Blue books will be available in which acting candidates can sign for trials to be held tomorrow afternoon in the Trophy Room of the Union.
