To the Editors of the CRIMSON:

The College would like to believe in the CRIMSON's sincerity. The editorial called "The Facts in the Case," however, bravely evaded the pertinent demand in the Communication Column that the CRIMSON prove its sincerity by publishing certain letters.

The same editorial asserts that only five letters on the Advocate were received. This is a misstatement. Mine was the sixth. On January 22 I submitted to the CRIMSON a reasonable letter asking a public explanation of the wretched condition of the Advocate; and on January 25 I presented a note asking why the letter had not been published. I received no answer. The CRIMSON saw fit to suppress the letter and ignore the note.

These facts may help to correct the impression, still held by a few, that the CRIMSON is open to communications which bring up unpleasantly true subjects. J. LESLIE HOTSON '20.

The CRIMSON has no record of having received the letter of Mr. Hotson, nor the note asking that his letter be published. If they were delivered at the CRIMSON office they were not seen by any officer of the Board. This may be believed or not, as anyone sees fit, but it is a statement of fact.

This information was communicated to Mr. Hotson last evening and a request was made that he furnish another copy of his original letter, which might be published along with the above. The request was refused.
