State Yale War Degree Regulations

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Regulations bearing upon the award of war-time degrees at Yale have been improved by the Prudential Committee of the Yale Corporation, and the modifications cover every anticipated contingency.

An undergraduate entering service within two months of a term's close may ask for special examination in any or all subjects of the unfinished term, provided his previous record is complete, and his term credits may be concluded by taking the examination. An undergraduate completing his junior year work who enters the service shall be entitled to have his name printed in the Commencement program of his class as that of a member "absent on service."

According to the regulations, a student serving as a commissioned officer may become a candidate for a degree at any subsequent Commencement. Those seniors who, after completing the first term, are casualties of war, shall be enrolled in the list of those receiving the bachelor's degrees "honoris causa" at the next Commencement.
