GLEE CLUB ANNOUNCES CHORUS

RETAINS SIXTY-FOUR MEN AFTER CLOSELY CONTESTED TRIALS.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

As a result of the song trials commenced last Friday and now completed, a total of 64 men has been retained by the University Glee Club for the coming season. These trials, the hardest ever held, were conducted under the quartet system, the whole number of competitors being divided up into quartets, all the groups being as nearly as possible equal. By this method every man was given an opportunity to sing in company with three others, and yet be judged with regard to his individual ability.

The trials were carried on under the supervision of Dr. A. T. Davison '06, assisted by the leader and assistant leader of the club. It was found necessary to devote at least one-half hour in judging the merits of each group, as an unusually large amount of good material available this year made the greatest care in selections necessary.

This list of performers will go to make up the bulk of the club throughout the winter season, since there will be no further trials before February. All men who failed to qualify in the recent trials will be given another opportunity at that time. In the meanwhile it is requested that those still having in their possession music belonging to the club, return it at the rehearsal tonight. The list of men retained follows:
