There will be a Freshman mass meeting in the Common Room of Smith Halls this evening at 7 o'clock. This is the result of action taken by the Committee on Freshman Affairs of the Student Council of which, since the resignation of E. A. McCouch '20, J. S. Higgins '20 is the chairman. This gathering will be for the purpose of stimulating enthusiasm and backing for the 1923 eleven which battles with the Princeton yearlings in the Stadium tomorrow; also to practice songs and cheers.

Speakers for the evening will be Dr. Paul Withington '09, coach of the Freshmen elevens, and C. C. Buell '23, quarterback of the first-year team, who was recently elected captain.

Lawrence W. Rathbun '23 has been appointed chairman of the meeting and cheer-leader. He will probably also lead the cheers in the Tiger game in the Stalium.

So far this year the support accorded the team by the class has been decidedly poor. For this reason the committee is anxious that everybody be at this meeting, as it is both the first and the last opportunity to support the eleven at a mass meeting this season.

A second mass meeting is planned for the Freshmen the night before the squad leaves for New Haven, at which it is hoped that Captain W. J. Murray of the University eleven will speak in addition to men form the class of 1923.
