100,000 Applicants For 2900 Seats at Lodge-Lowell Debate Wednesday
A lottery similar to that employed in the distribution of tickets for President Wilson's Mechanics Hall address will be used in choosing the successful applicants for the Lodge-Lowell debate in Symphony Hall Wednesday night. After considering several methods of assigning tickets, the debate committee decided that the lottery system was the most equitable.
At the closing hour for accepting applications, last Saturday noon, more than 100,000 seat applications had been received for the 2900 seats. On account of the great demand it is probable that only one ticket will go to one applicant. Outside of the public assignment, certain public officials and press representatives are the only persons for whom seats will be reserved.
The lottery will take place today. It is planned to mail ticket to successful applicants so that all will be delivered Wednesday morning.
