UNIVERSITY TENNIS MAKE CLEAN SWEEP

PLAY TIGER SEXTET TODAY

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Both University and Freshman tennis teams were victorious in the matches played on Divinity Field yesterday afternoon. The former had little trouble in blanking the University of Pittsburg 6-0, while the latter conquered Brookline High School 3-2. At no time in the matches did the University of Pittsburg threaten, although Robinson's singles with Duane were hard fought.

In the yearling contest, the double matches were the most exciting, with the Guild and Warburg combination affording the best play.

University Meets Princeton Today

This afternoon at Forest Hills, L. I., the University tennis team will meet Princeton. This match and the one with Yale next Saturday will determine the intercollegiate championship.

The Tiger team, led by Captain Werner, a star of last year's team, will present one of the strongest tennis aggregations that the University has met this year. Playing second on the Orange and Black sextet is E. T. Herndon, another of last year's players, who is expected to play a strong game. Shipway and Kaltenbach are stellar Tiger performers, while Hynson, although out of the game a large part of the season, due to a strained tendon, is rapidly rounding into shape and will play today.

The Crimson players, with a record of 12 victories, presents a well-balanced outfit. Captain J. W. Helm '20, who has been playing a brilliant game this year, is particularly potent at the net and in his service. L. A. de Turenne '21 is an exceptionally steady player. J. B. Fenno Jr. '21 will cause the Tigers no little worry with his smashing ground strokes. The same line-up that played yesterday will represent the University today: Helm, de Turenne, Fenno, Hyams, Robinson and Bradley.

Tomorrow afternoon, also at West Side, the team will encounter a strong sextet representing the West Side Tennis Club. After the match the players will disband and return to Cambridge.
