"GUTS"

The game on Saturday was the cleanest, fastest exhibition of football that the Stadium has witnessed for a long time. Few games have been more exciting to watch--few opponents more dangerous. A lot is said about victories and morale, usually with the tongue in the cheek. But at the end of the third quarter in Saturday's game Harvard had little but morale left. Those who raw are bound to agree with Jack Hardwick that ties are not accidents, especially when they occur in the last few minutes of play, as Princeton and Penn State have each borne witness twice. It is just a matter of "homely guts", and if Harvard ever showed "guts" she showed them on Saturday with her "vagabond backfield" fighting like veterans.

But best of all is the firm knowledge that we are backing a team that can stage two touchdowns and a "come-back" not through breaks, but by sheer football. Stock in undergraduate optimism has risen many points.
