LIVE UPDATES: Pro-Palestine Protesters Begin Encampment in Harvard Yard
The University baseball team will face Bates at Soldiers Field on Saturday, after a week of strenuous practice. The nine is rapidly rounding into shape, and several new men have shown ability. D. F. Thayer '23 of last year's Freshman team is now playing left field regularly, and C. C. Buell '23 is filling Lincoln's shoes at third, while the latter is out temporarily because of a sprained ankle. F. W. Crocker '22, at center field in place of Hallock, who is still unable to play because of a split finger, has proved to be a dependable batter--having contributed two home runs, two doubles and a triple in two practice games, Saturday and Monday. The nine as a whole has shown that it can hit freely.
Scrubs and 1924 Defeated
Since the overwhelming defeat administered to Northeastern College 16-4 on Saturday, the University team has been victorious over the second team by the score of 11-0, and the Freshmen to the tune of 5-1.
Bates has not played a game this season, and so nothing is known about the strength of her team.
Contrary to previous announcement that entrance to the game would be free, it has been found necessary to charge fifty cents admission, but H. A. A. and season-ticket holders may use their books for admission.
