Give Psychological Tests at Yale

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

As a result of the psychological examinations given to the Freshman class at Yale under the direction of Dr. J. E. Anderson of the Yale Psychological Department, it was found that the average of the football numeral men was two points above that of the entire class. Men who had been satisfactory in their studies for the first half year, it was found averaged distinctly higher than those who had been warned or dropped.

The purpose of the tests was to determine their value in predicting whether men are going to fall or succeed at college. It is also hoped that by comparing the results of this and former years better tests and methods may be resulted out for meeting the requirements of the college situation.

The examinations were modelled upon the army intelligence tests given to the Yale Freshmen last year.
