COSMOPOLITAN CLUB TO HOLD ENTERTAINMENT

International Night to Be Held in Honor of Foreign Students in Brattle Hall on May 19--Performance to Include Singing, Dancing, and Acting

The Harvard Cosmopolitan Club has completed its plans for International Night, which will be held at Brattle Hall at 8 o'clock on the evening of Thursday, May 19. International Night is the Club's annual celebration in honor of the many different nationalities represented by students at the University. A performance which includes pieces, songs, plays or dances, typical of almost every foreign country that sends men here, is generally given and in each case the singing, acting or dancing is done by students from the nationality represented in the particular number. The entertainment will be followed by dancing.

This year's performance has much interest and variety. China is given the foreground, for the opening piece. "Two in One", and the number that closes the entertainment, are both Chinese in subject matter and execution. The first is a typical Chinese act, and the second is a farce entitled "Beating the Village God". The actors are all Chinese students at the University. The English, and also the American number is a one-act play, "X-O, A Night of the Trojan War," by Mr. John Drinkwater. Philippine songs, Russian music, and an Egyptian Slave Dance complete the program.
