The first practice of the fall baseball season was held yesterday afternoon, thirty-four men reporting to Coach Slattery. E. C. Lincoln '32, University third-baseman for two years, will help in the coaching, and will act as captain in the absence of A. J. Conlon '22. The later is a candidate for quarterback on the football team.

Games will be played with a number of bank and industrial nines, the first probably on Monday. With regular games two or three times a week, Coach Slattery will devote the other afternoons to giving all the men individual attention so that he can pick out promising candidates for the Spring.

Nine pitchers are among the thirty- four candidates as well as five catchers, including J. E. Murphy '22, last season's regular, and L. C. Larrabee '24, the Freshman catcher last year. Of the ten infielders Lincoln and T. M. Carnegie '24 are the most prominent. D. F. Thayer '23, J. S. Clark '23 and A. S. Rogers '24, make a good outfield trio, and there are seven others as alternatives.

Team A.--Richard Norris '24, 1b.; C. J. Mason '22, 2b.; Lincoln, 3b.; Carnegie, s.s.; Thayer, l.f.; Clark, c.f.; Rogers and Robert Worthington '23, r.f.; Larrabee and P. A. Butman '23, c.; George Bemis '24 and J. S. Anastars '23, p.
