PROF. HAFFNER TAKES UP DUTIES

Noted French Architect to Teach in Architectural School

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

M. Jean Jacques Haffner, the distinguished French architect who recently accepted a professorship in the Architectural School, took up his duties at the University yesterday afternoon. He did not arrive at Boston till Sunday evening.

Mr. Haffner ranks as a winner of the Grand Prix de Rome, one of the highest of architectural honors and was one of the foremost students at the Ecole des Beaux Arts, where he won numerous honors. Mr. Albert Ferran, also a Grand Prix winner, came from France with Mr. Haffner and will have charge of design at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. They have worked together before, and as the two schools are often engaged in "conjunctive problems" they will have an opportunity to continue their joint studies.

Mr. Haffner will be in the Main Drawing Room of Robinson Hall on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays to criticise the drafting done there.
