Charles M. Schwab Opposes Can-cellation of War Loans in These Two Countries-Says People Themselves Are Against Plan

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

"The war loans to England and France should not be canceled", declared Mr. Charles M. Schwab in a recent interview with a CRIMSON reporter. "I do not believe that the people of these countries want the loans cancelled, because they feel that there is a moral obligation involved which they cannot shirk. They realize that they owe us a debt that can never be paid, and that the least they can do is to return us our money.

"You would not expect to have a Liberty bond canceled", he continued, "and no more do I expect' to see the French and British debt to us repudiated. It is futile to wonder what the effect of canceling these loans would be on American business, because they will never be canceled".
