The University basketball season will open officially today, with a meeting of candidates at 3 o'clock in Hemenway. Freshman candidates will meet in the Freshman Gymnasium at 5 o'clock, while Sophomore Second Assistant and Freshman manager candidates are called for 7 o'clock in Grays 7.

At the University meeting, Coach Wachter and Captain Lewis Gordon '24 will discuss the prospects for the season. Coach Wachter and S. B. Chase 2L., the Freshman coach, will talk to the yearling squad.

For the University team, Coach Wachter has a wealth of good material from which to choose, practically all of last year's squad having returned. R. W. Fitts '23 will be ineligible this season, H. B. Tyson '23, J. H. Sipp 2E.S., and E. W. Love all being possibilities for his position at center.
