UNIVERSITY AND M. I. T. FRESHMEN BATTLE TO TIE

Forwards on Crimson Team Unable to Score on Chances--Gray and Brooks Star Against Tech. Attack--Extra Period Futile Final Score 2-2

The Freshman Soccer team tied M. I. T. Freshmen Saturday afternoon 2-2 in the fastest game of the season thus far. The yearlings showed the necessary ability to get the ball and keep it in the enemy's territory the majority of the game, but the forwards lacked the power to cage the ball, and continually failed to shoot in time.

M. I. T. played a consistent brand of soccer, but its attacks were straggling and were continually balked by the playing of Captain Gray, at left fullback, and Brooks, at right halfback. The game was prolonged by an extra ten minute period in an unsuccessful attempt to play off the tie.

The summary follows. Harvard 9126  M. I. T. 1926 Wintermute, g.  g., Jones Tarnowsky, r.f.b.  l.f.b., Karsch Gray (Captain), l.f.b.  r.f.b., Cheney Brooks, r.h.b.  l.h.b., Talbot Stahl, c,h.b.  c.h.b., Merrick Phaneuf, l.h.b.  r.h.b.
