AMHERST IN GAME HERE THIS EVENING WITH CRIMSON FIVE

FIRST MEETING WITH YALE TO TAKE PLACE TUESDAY

This evening at 8 o'clock the Amherst five will face Coach Wachter's quintet on the Hemenway floor. Last night the visiting team played at the Walker Memorial gymnasium where Tech defeated them by a score of 25 to 15.

Since the University overcame the Engineers on January 17 by a 31-27 count an excellent comparison of the strength of the two fives can be made and a very close contest is to be expected tonight. Earlier in the season the Purple nosed out Clark University 29-27 while the Crimson succeeded in routing the mid-state five by a 43-29 score. Besides the contests with Tech and Clark, the Amherst five lost to Trinity 37-23 in the opening game of the winter.

With the Yale game in prospect for Tuesday, the University five will be playing in top form tonight and should show the fastest game that has been seen-here this year. Saved from over-training by light practices this week, Coach Wachter's men should continue the winning streak that enabled them to down Worcester Tech and New Hampshire State. The game this evening will be the last trial that the team will have before meeting the Blue five Tuesday and the Dartmouth quintet Saturday and will be a searching test of the ability of the players before these two crucial contests.

Light practice featured the workout of the Crimson yesterday afternoon, Coach Wachter attempting nothing more strenuous than a signal drill and formation practice. Gordon and Fitts who were unable to be present Thursday due to mid-year examinations were again in uniform and went through the last work-out with the team.
