RAMBLERS LOSE TO EAGLES

Informal Crimson Team, Minus Three Regulars, Defeated 4-2--Game Goes to Two Overtime Periods

Fought to a standstill in the first two periods, tieing the score with forty-five seconds to spare in the final session, trailing by two goals when the whistle blew at the end of two crisp over-time periods--such was the record of the Crimson Ramblers in their hard-fought but losing struggle with the Boston College Eagles at the Arena last night.

Nor was it lack of aggressiveness that caused the Crimson downfall. The latter was an outstanding feature of the Ramblers' play throughout the contest, but team-work was totally lacking and it was this defect that, more than any other factor, spelled defeat for the University players. Owen, Walker, and Higgins did not play.

The first period produced no score, and it was not till the latter part of the middle session that the two teams broke loose with a a flurry of shots at close range, which netted two goals for the Eagles and one lone tally for the Crimson. With a Boston College victory practically assured in the closing moments of play, the University players closed in on the opposing team in a last desperate effort, and from the center of a sharp scrimmage in front of the cage Larocque captured the puck and slipped it past Fitsgerald for the tieing count. The Ramblers lapsed in the two extra periods, the Eagles annexing a point in each session for a 4-2 lead at the closing whistle.

By his consistently effective stabs through the University defence, Hughes of Boston College proved himself the bulwark of his team's attack, scoring two goals in the second period, while Hodder and Crosby, continually breaking loose in brilliant dashes down the ice, as well as exhibiting a sterling defence, stood out as the Crimson's strongest players.
