With the close of the Jackson Cup tennis singles last Friday afternoon, tennis players and fans are turning their attention to the Union tennis tournament, which begins today on the Jarvis Courts. Although scheduled to begin yesterday, the preliminary matches were prevented by wet courts. The eight seeded men, Whitbeck, Bondi, Stralem, Harrington, Cummings, Perkins, Debevoise, and Martin, who were picked by Coach H. C. Cowles are expected to have an easy time in the opening rounds. Only two of the men, seeded in this tournament, were seeded in the Jackson Cup singles. They are: Whitbeck and Bondi.

Rules prescribe first that players use their own balls until the semifinals, when the balls will be supplied by the Union, and second, that the usual 20 minute waiting time will be observed after the time set for the match.
