In the opening encounter of the season on Soldiers Field at 3 o'clock this afternoon, the University soccer men will oppose the team from the Engineering School of Northeastern University. The visitors were defeated 1-0 in an informal game during the spring practice of the University squad and should be an equally strong opponent tomorrow.

On Wednesday the Crimson will face the Chinese Students' team, made up of Chinese undergraduates in and about Boston, which won a very close 1-0 practice game in May, and on Saturday, the Amherst team. The league games with Cornell, Princeton, University of Pennsylvania, Yale, and Haverford do not come until November, and so Coach Welch will have time to get his eleven into the best of condition.

Five of last year's letter men will start the game today while Captain Greenidge, Lamont, and Purdy have all had two or more years of experience. Last year's Freshman team has contributed four players to the University team, Brooks, de Tarnowsky, Gray, and Drew-Baer, all appearing in today's line-up.
