HUBBARD WINS POSITION ON CAMP'S ALL-AMERICA ELEVEN

Coombs, Evans, Cheek and Pfaffmann Given Honorable Mention

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Captain C. J. Hubbard '24 has been awarded one of the guard positions on Walter Camp's first All-America team. There are no University players on either the second or third of the mythical elevens, but Combs, end; Evans, tackle; and Cheek and Pfaffmann, backs, are given honorable mention.

In stating his reasons for selecting Hubbard on the first eleven, Mr. Camp says: "Hubbard played the part of the leader of the line for his team. Attacks after a time avoided his position, and when his backs gained, it was usually due to his work in crowding the opponents in or out and making a start for his runner. He has enormous reach and an uncanny sense of the point of attack."
