M. I. T. QUINTET IS FIRST REAL THREAT TO CRIMSON
OPPONENTS STARTED SEASON WITH VICTORY OVER NORTHEASTERN
The University quintet will face its first real test of the season this evening at 8 o'clock when the M. I. T. five visits the Hemenway Gymnasium. The Harvard line-up will be the same as in the last game, as Coach Wachter hesitates to break up a winning combination.
The competition for regular berths on the team is greater than it was three weeks ago. Rauh at center, Merriam at forward, and Maher at guard are all likely, to force their way into the lineup. Rauh in particular has shown great improvement in the daily practice sessions.
The M. I. T. team has played one game thus far, a 31 to 26 victory over Northeastern University last Saturday. The visitors will be handicapped tonight by the absence of Captain Cook, a veteran of two year's service, who is out of the game with an injured leg. He starred against Harvard last year in the contest which the Crimson won, 28 to 18. There will be only two men in the lineup who faced the University five last year, Johnson at center and Davidson at guard.
