MEMORIAL HALL PATRONAGE DROPS DESPITE IMPROVEMENTS

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

In spite of the remodelling of Memorial Hall dining room and the drive to secure patronage, the first two weeks have not equalled in number of people served the same period for last year.

Last fall 5224 meals were served during the first week that college was open, while during the first week this year only 5070 meals were served. Last ball during the second week 7146 meals were served, while the same seven days this year only netted 6446 meals served.

This rather surprising failue on the part of the dining room to secure increased favor this year, considering the improvements that have been made, was explained at the Bursar's office as resulting from the new plan of allowing students to pay for separate meals without being forced to subscribe for the entire week. This innovation is holding the new eating place back, but it is expected to gain rapidly in patronage before the end, of the month.
