Fall practice for the University lacrosse team came to a close yesterday afternoon when the Crimson team was defeated by the Boston Lacrosse Club, 3 to 1. The game was closely contested throughout, but the University team lost many opportunities for goals because of poor shooting. The Boston Lacrosse Club team was made up largely of graduates of the University.
Coach C. L. Nunneker '22, coach of this fall's team and former University lacrosse player, was not discouraged by the defeat, and stated that the material is the best in years. Between 35 and 40 men have reported for practice daily throughout the fall.
Spring practice will begin the middle of February, and the baseball cage will be used for evening practice and scrimmaging until the weather permits play out of doors.
The University team lined up as follows yesterday: i.h., William Babson '26; o.h., R. F. Murphy '27; 1a., James Sullivan '25; 2a., J. L. Brown '26; 3a., D. C. Backus '27; c., H. M.
