HUPD Chief Says Harvard Yard Encampment is Peaceful, Defends Students’ Right to Protest
A 7-2 victory for Harvard was the result of a tennis match on the Divinity Courts yesterday between the second University team and Andover. Evans, a likely winner of the Harvard Interscholastics this spring, won the sole point for the visitors in the singles by defeating Stralem. Their second point came in the last doubles match when Goodwin and Dickson defeated Weisman and Bandler.
The matches played yesterday resulted as follows:
Singles.--Evans (A) defeated Stralem (H), 8-6, 6-3; Bondi (H) defeated Luce (A) 6-3, 6-3; Allen (H) defeated Pope (A), 6-3, 8-6; Bandler (H) defeated Ward (A), 4-6, 6-3, 6-3; Weisman (H) defeated Goodwin (A), 6-1, 6-3; Pratt(H) defeated Tolman (A), 6-2, 6-0.
Doubles.--Stralem and Bondi (H) defeated. Evans and Luce (A), 6-3, 8-10, 6-4; Allen and Pratt (H) defeated Pope and Ward (A), 6-3, 6-1, Goodwin and Dickson (A) defeated Weisman and Bandler (H), 2-6, 6-3, 6-4.
