The University basketball five last night held its first scrimmage of the season against the Law School quintet.

Coach Wachter has spent the past ten days in polishing up on the fundamentals of the game, passing, pivoting shooting and defense work.

He has announced his first cut, which leaves 21 men on the squad, as follows: Baldwin, Barbee, Campbell, Combs, Dorn, Eaton, Ehy, Elberfeld, Green, Hatch, Jones, Lane, Leekley, Malick, McCurdy, Meisenbach, Oothout., Rauh Slocum, Captain Smith and Stone. The next cut will be after the Christmas vacation.

The Athletic Committee has ratified the opening game with Dartmouth at Cambridge, which is to be held on December 15 or 16, if the management is able to conclude arrangements.

Coach Wachter's squad is far too large at present, but he wishes to give all of the men a fair opportunity, so he will retain them all for two weeks more.
