FISHER WATCHES FOOTBALL PRACTICE FOR FIRST TIME

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Spring football practice took on a more formal appearance yesterday when Coach Fisher arrived at Soldiers Field for the first time to watch his candidates play their new passing game. Another informal game was held for his benefit which resulted in the more auspicious score of 4 to 0.

Coach Campbell of the Freshman team, who refereed the game, made several innovations in the rules. A system of foul penalties was adopted by which a free shot was given from the safety line to the opponents of a man caught holding the ball or falling of it. It was also decided that forward passing should be allowed only within certain zones.

Coach Fisher expressed his satisfaction in regard to the men's progress and corroborated the general approval of Major Moore's training novelty.
