COMMITTEE RATIFIES NEW BIG THREE PACT

Gives Him Recognition for His Work in Defeating Yale Relay Team--Three New Men on Sports Committees

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The full proceedings of the meeting of the Athletic Committee on Wednesday evening were made public last night by the H. A. A. authorities. Among the most important measures taken in the meeting were ratification of four recent agreements of the Chairmen of the Harvard, Yale, and Princeton Committees on Athletics.

The agreement of the chairmen limiting the salary of Big Three football coaches and the total budget for football coaching was definitely indorsed. Although the rumor that the salary of head coaches had been limited to $8,000 a year is reported as entirely untrue, salaries have been specified at approximately the same figure at all three colleges. It is also stipulated that there shall be no bonuses from graduates or others paid to any coach.

Regulate Freshman Trips

The interpretation of the rule of the triangular agreement about absences of the Freshman football team was decided so that the words "Absence from college" should mean absence from the required college exercises. The interpretation was made for the proper regulation of trips by the Freshman teams.

The rule on the eligibility of transfer students in the university, which has come up for so much discussion, was considered by the committee. It was voted to ratify the proposed amendment of the rule so as to include all men who have played in the sport concerned in another college, whether they entered Harvard, Yale, or Princeton by examination or by credits earned at the other colleges. It was also voted under this rule, for purposes of the eligibility requirement, to consider track and cross-country running as the same sport.

Haggerty Wins Track "H"

On the recommendation of the Track Advisory Committee and the captain of the team, it was decided to award the major track "H" to E. C. Haggerty '27 "for meritorious performance in the winning of the two-mile relay race against Yale at the B. A. A. meet on January 31." The "H" was not formally awarded to the other members of the team who have already won their letters.

Three new members, by a vote of the committee, were added to the advisory committees of track and crew. Louis H. Mills '14, of Portland, Ore., was added as associate member of the Crew Committee while Westmore Wilcox '77, of New York, and Evan Hollister '97, of Buffalo, were added to the Track Committee.
