Due to an overwhelming number of applications for tickets for the University Glee Club's performance of the Brahms Requiem for April 16, an additional performance has been announced for Friday evening, April 17, at 8 o'clock at Symphony Hall.
The first performance, to be conducted by M. Serge Koussevitzky, has attracted so much attention that all seats have been sold out. M. Koussevitzky has consented to act again as guest conductor. The same personnel in orchestra and solists will perform both nights.
Rehearsals for the Requiem have proceeded regularly until this week when they were stopped by M. Koussevitzky, who expressed great satisfaction with the development of the work, and stated that no more practice would be necessary until the week of the concert.
Tickets for both performances are on sale at the Cooperative and at the Box Office.
