Michigan Plays Wisconsin

In the middle west, Michigan and Wisconsin, and on the Pacific Coast California and Washington furnish the touch given to eastern football by the Tiger Crimson affair.

Yale should have little difficulty in disposing of Maryland, and will probably try out a number of second string men during the game. The Elis face Princeton and Harvard on the two succeeding Saturdays and are thus forced to regard today's game as the final stage in their preparation for the big series. Last year a scrappy outfit of Southerners gave the Blue a score early in the game with two touchdowns but was finally buried under a 43 to 14 score.

Norwich to Tngage Bear

The famous Brown eleven which engages the University next week will take a breather today after three successive contest with leading eastern teams. Norwich comes down from the Vermont hills to give the powerful Providence Bears a works at but has small hopes of carrying back a victory. Coach Hawley's Big Green eleven will play the much trampled on Boston University team. After a so far unsuccessful season the Dartmouth Indians are seeking to retrieve their past defects be a decisive triumph over Cornell next Saturday.

In the second game of the "little three" series. Williams will seek to avenge last year's defeat at the hands of Wesleyan. The Purple has produced a strong outfit this year and is looking for a renewal of cost successes against its "little three" rivals. Holy Cross is also seeking revenge for the 17 to 0 defeat administered last year by Fordham.

Illinois and Chicago Clash

Outside of the clash in the Stadium this afternoon, however, the interest of football followers turns mostly to western fields. Two great conference games are on today's gridiron card. Wisconsin will try to stop its traditional rival, the powerful Michigan team, while Illinois, conqueror of Pennsylvania journeys to Chicago to meet the strong Windy City eleven. All of these teams are dangerous contenders for the "Big Ten" title and today's results should carry the combatants several steps nearer a decision for the recognized Middle Western supremacy.

In the far west the California Washington battle looms as a rival to the traditional big three classic in the Stadium. California had held precedence in Pacific Coast football for a number of years until it was finally stopped by a powerful team from Washington last year. Today the Californians journey to Seattle distinctly the under dogs but may prove a tough team to beat Washington with an unbroken string of victories since the beginning of the season is expecting a decisive victory which would put it in a favorable position for the mythical coast championship.
